Israel reportedly attacks Hamas sites in Gaza, claims rocket attack on its territory

Targets attacked included a weapons depot, residences used as operations control centers, and other terrorist infrastructure.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Israeli Air Force fighter jets, in cooperation with the IDF Southern Command, attacked targets in the Gaza Strip during the night. About 20 rockets were fired from there at Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip last night.

The targets attacked included an arms depot, apartments used as command centers and other terrorist infrastructure.

Before the attacks, the Israeli army had taken precautionary measures and allowed civilians to evacuate the area in order to minimize damage to bystanders.

“The terrorist organization Hamas systematically violates international law and cynically uses the civilian population as a human shield for terrorist attacks against the State of Israel,” the IDF said.
