Harrison County man arrested after cops find truck submerged in Ohio River

A southern Indiana man was arrested after state police found his truck partially submerged in the Ohio River. According to Indiana State Police, officers responded to a 911 call about a vehicle submerged in the Ohio River at a boat ramp in Harrison County on Friday. When officers arrived with rescue crews, they found a pickup truck partially submerged in the river. Apparently, the driver drove the truck too far down the Mauckport boat ramp. According to ISP, the driver of the truck was James Schuppert, 61, and there was a warrant out for his arrest. With the help of a diver, Schuppert and the pickup truck were recovered from the river. Schuppert was taken into police custody once he was back on land. He is being held in the Harrison County Jail and is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

According to the Indiana State Police, officers responded to a 911 call Friday that a vehicle had sunk in the Ohio River at a boat ramp in Harrison County.

When police and rescue workers arrived, they found a pickup truck partially submerged in the river.

It appeared that the driver of the truck had driven too far down the Mauckport boat ramp.

According to ISP, 61-year-old James Schuppert was the driver of the truck and there was a warrant out for his arrest.

With the help of a diver, Schuppert and the pickup were recovered from the river.

After Schuppert returned to land, he was taken into police custody.

He is being held in the Harrison County Jail and is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.
