Shelton accident with car fire claims one life: PD

According to police, rescue workers found the scene of the accident where a car was on fire.

SHELTON, Connecticut – According to Shelton Police, one person was injured in an accident that followed a car fire in the city of Shelton on Sunday evening.

Police said they were called to Commerce Drive and Research Drive at 11:30 p.m. along with the city’s fire and emergency services for a report of a car fire.

According to police, firefighters and officers found one car on fire and one car sitting alone.

Rescue workers pulled a man from the car and took him to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later died, police said. His identity has not yet been released.

The cause and events leading to the crash are currently unknown.

The Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.
