Former WWE star arrested for ‘violent stabbing’

A former WWE star was arrested this month following a “brutal stabbing” incident in Kansas City, Missouri.

As TMZ reports, former WCW Tag Team Champion 2 Cold Scorpio, real name Charles Scaggs, was arrested on June 15 following a “gas station brawl.”

According to TMZ, Scaggs, who also wrestled in the WWE for several years under the name Flash Funk, told authorities that he was working as a security guard at a gas station and saw a man lighting a cigarette inside the store.

The victim told TMZ that he did not light the cigarette in the store, but came in with a cigarette that “maybe wasn’t completely extinguished,” although he thought he had put it out.

Scaggs claimed he told the victim he was not allowed to smoke inside and the victim responded, “What the hell are you going to do?”

Scaggs then claimed he was threatened by the other man who was “trying to wrestle with him” outside, so Scaggs pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him “in self-defense.”

According to Scaggs, the altercation lasted “several moments” and he “involved further stabbings.”

Police arriving at the scene said they saw the victim lying on the ground, bleeding from his “head, chest, buttocks, legs and abdomen” and had to be taken to hospital because he kept losing consciousness.

When investigators contacted him, he told them Scaggs was the attacker.

Scaggs, 58, was arrested on two felony charges – one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action.

After being released on bail, he pleaded not guilty and is due to appear in court next month.
