Man arrested on suspicion of murder after shooting in SoMa

(KRON) – A suspect was arrested Sunday on murder charges in connection with Friday night’s killing, according to San Francisco police.

On Friday at 7:13 p.m., San Francisco police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Mission Street. Police found a victim with an “apparent” gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.


San Francisco police said officers found a person matching the description at the Civic Center BART station. When they arrested the suspect, officers found a firearm on him. According to police, officers were informed that the suspect was chasing the victim and fired several shots at him.

The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Adam Masaed.

Masaed was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of willful and deliberate homicide of a human being and willful and negligent discharge of a firearm.
