Investigators determined someone had been bitten by the dogs, police said. The Dallas Fire Department took the injured person to a hospital with injuries that police said were “non-life-threatening.”

When the officers tried to meet the dog owner, the dogs tried to attack an officer. According to police, the officer shot both dogs and they died.

No officers were injured and the investigation is ongoing. Police did not provide further details about the investigation, including whether charges might be filed in connection with the attack.
