Tacoma shooting leaves man dead on East F Street – KIRO 7 News Seattle

TACOMA, Washington – A shooting in Tacoma Tuesday night left a man dead on East F Street in Tacoma.

Police received a number of reports from people who heard multiple gunshots in the area around 11:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 News that the man was found on the sidewalk in the residential neighborhood.

First responders attempted to save the victim, but he was later pronounced dead.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 News they heard more than a dozen gunshots in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.

“I heard it. They came racing here. A few more shots,” said Lex Meeker, a neighbor. “I felt unsafe.”

Meeker said violence in the neighborhood is far too common.

“I grew up in this neighborhood. It’s only gotten more dangerous over time,” she said.

Tacoma police said they did not have any details on a possible suspect as of Wednesday afternoon. They are asking anyone with information to come forward to help investigators solve the case.

“It’s not just a police problem. We can’t solve this alone. We need the community. We need the city. We need the fire department. We need every single person who lives in Tacoma or visits to work with us to solve this problem and help stop murders in our city,” said Shelbie Boyd, Tacoma Police Department spokeswoman.

“If someone is so brazen as to fire multiple shots at the public, they will not stop. It will not happen just this one time. By putting them in jail, we may save even more lives in the future,” she added.

People passed by the crime scene and laid flowers near where the victim died.

Some people said the victim was 23-year-old Brichaun Pringle.

KIRO 7 News was told that a candlelight vigil in his memory was planned for 8 p.m. near the crime scene on Wednesday.
