Coroner confirms two dead in Waymart incident

WAYMART, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say two men have died following an early morning incident at a quarry and asphalt plant in Wayne County.

The Wayne County Coroner’s Office confirms in a press release that two men, 51-year-old Brian Edwards of Honesdale and 72-year-old James Martzen of Waymart, died at the Wayco Inc. quarry and asphalt plant in Waymart.

According to the press release, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing, but the deaths are not considered suspicious.

According to official information, both men were employed by two different private shipping companies, authorities said.

According to the coroner, autopsies are scheduled for Friday morning.
