Red alert and evacuations in El Salvador due to heavy rains

On June 17, about 30 families were evacuated in Ahuachapan, El Salvador, as the country was declared a red alert due to heavy rains.

According to local media reports, eleven people died as a result of the storms, including three minors.

About 230 families were evacuated to 34 emergency shelters across the country, the National Civil Protection Service said.
