Man charged with threatening FBI agent involved in investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop

A Texas man has been charged with allegedly threatening an FBI special agent involved in an investigation into the leak of personal information from Hunter Biden’s laptop

FORT WORTH, Texas – A Texas man has been charged with threatening an FBI special agent who was involved in an investigation into the distribution of personal information from Hunter Biden’s laptop, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Timothy Muller reportedly called the FBI agent on Tuesday, shortly after a Delaware jury returned a guilty verdict against Hunter Biden. President Joe Biden’s son was found guilty of three serious crimes in a federal gun trial.

The Baltimore-based agent hung up, prosecutors said in a news release, and Muller called back and threatened the agent and his family in a voicemail that lasted more than a minute.

“You can run, but you can’t hide (swear word),” Müller is said to have told the agent.

Muller reportedly went on to say that if former President Donald Trump won re-election, “and then we’re going to (expletive) go through the FBI and start throwing you (expletive) in jail. Or you can steal another election, and then the guns will be out, and we’re going to (expletive) hunt you down and slaughter you like the traitorous dogs you are in your own (expletive) homes.”

After leaving the voicemail, Muller sent the agent several text messages, including, “How’s the family? Is she safe?” and “Did you (expletive) really think you were going to disenfranchise 75 million Americans and not die in the process? Lol.”

The name of the special agent was not released.

Muller, 43, of Fort Worth, Texas, is charged with threatening interstate communications and influencing, obstructing or retaliating against a federal official. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

His federal public defender did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.

The lengthy laptop saga began with a New York Post article in October 2020 that described some of the emails allegedly found on the device related to Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. Trump quickly seized on the issue as a campaign theme during the presidential election that year.

The owner of a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, said Hunter Biden dropped off a laptop at his shop in April 2019 and never picked it up again. The owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, admitted in his 2022 book to viewing private and confidential material from Biden’s laptop, including a file titled “income.pdf.” He later contacted Republicans to review and distribute the material.
