Woman arrested after fatal collision with motorcyclist in Rialto – San Bernardino Sun

A female driver was arrested on suspicion of murder after her SUV collided head-on with a motorcycle in Rialto on Sunday, killing her, Rialto police said Tuesday.

On Sunday at 5:32 p.m., Rialto Police received reports of a traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard, near Riverside Avenue, in Rialto.

Police arrived at the scene minutes later and found Roger Norris, 59, of La Verne, with life-threatening injuries, a police news release said. Norris was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he died at 5:58 p.m.

Rialto police determined that Norris was traveling eastbound on a motorcycle while 48-year-old Monica Granger of Riverside was driving the other vehicle, a white Toyota Highlander, westbound on Willow Avenue.

“For an unknown reason, Granger crossed the marked median into the oncoming lane, where he collided head-on with Norris,” Tuesday’s press release said.

Granger was not injured.

Granger was arrested on charges of murder and involuntary manslaughter, San Bernardino County Jail records show. She was being held on $1 million and $60,000 bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, records show.

Further information on the circumstances of the collision was not initially available.

Anyone with further information about the collision should contact Sergeant Dan Smith at 909-644-6025.
