Prajwal Revanna remanded in custody until June 24

Bengaluru: A local court on Monday remanded the main accused in the sex video scandal and former JD-S MP Prajwal Revanna in custody until June 24.

The order was passed by the court of the 42nd Additional Chief Municipal Magistrate after he was produced before it as his police custody ended on Monday.

According to the order, Revanna, the grandson of JD-S chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, will be shifted to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday raided the residence of Revanna’s father and JD-S MP HD Revanna in Basavanagudi in connection with the sexual assault case and said they have collected some materials to be used as evidence.

The SIT had arrested Prajwal in connection with the kidnapping case reported by a maid in Holenarasipur. Later, the SIT claimed that both the Revannas had allegedly raped her. HD Revanna, the main accused in the case, was arrested and is currently out on bail.

Revanna’s mother, Bhavani Revanna, has been granted provisional parole in the case until Friday and has been ordered to attend the investigation every day until 5 p.m.

Revanna underwent medical tests and his voice samples were collected and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to match the voice in the leaked videos.
