Bergey Road closed, Route 309 one-lane after accident with injuries on Saturday afternoon

At least two people had to be taken to Grand View Hospital by emergency personnel following a two-vehicle accident and subsequent vehicle rescue shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday at Route 309/Bethlehem Pike and Bergey Road in Hatfield Township.

Paramedics from Grand View Hospital were called to the scene to assist VMSC EMS.

According to reports from the scene, a white Toyota Camry and a light blue Ford Escape SUV were involved in the accident.

A male driver had to be rescued from the Toyota.

Bergey Road is closed in both directions from Richmond Road to Bethlehem Pike. Route 309 South is narrowed to one lane.

Hatfield Township Police were assisted at the scene by Freedom Valley Medical Rescue Fire Department, as well as Hatfield Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co. and Colmar Vol. Fire Co. Fire Department.

The age and condition of the injured are currently unknown.
