LMPD: Man and woman dead after accident in Beechmont district

The LMPD Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – A man and a woman were killed in a traffic accident in the Beechmont neighborhood of Louisville Thursday evening.

The Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to an “injury incident” involving a car and a motorcycle in the area of ​​Taylor Boulevard and Arling Avenue around 10 p.m.

According to a preliminary police investigation, a pickup truck was turning west onto Arling Avenue when it collided with a motorcycle traveling south on Taylor Boulevard.

The driver of the motorcycle, a man whose identity is currently unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An adult passenger on the motorcycle was taken by emergency services to UofL Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead there.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured and at the scene. According to LMPD, no charges are expected at this time.
