IPID arrests task force police officer for allegedly raping his girlfriend

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has arrested a 48-year-old sergeant of the Johannesburg Flying Squad for allegedly raping his girlfriend on Sunday evening.

“He went to his girlfriend’s house at around 11.30pm. The girlfriend, who was sleeping with her one-month-old child, heard a noise outside and jumped out of bed to see what was going on,” said IPID spokesman Phaladi Shuping.
