Man wanted for Durham shooting in April arrested in Washington DC

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) – A man wanted in connection with an April shooting in Durham was arrested in Washington, D.C., Durham police said Wednesday.

U.S. Marshals took 27-year-old Osman Calderon-Juarez into custody on May 24, the DPD said.

He was wanted in connection with an April 21 shooting on Marne Avenue.

That day, officers were called to Duke University Hospital for a man with a gunshot wound just before 5:45 a.m. They found a man who had been shot and was in a private vehicle at Duke.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, but his condition was later stabilized.

Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred in front of a home in the 1300 block of Marne Avenue.

On April 23, authorities charged Calderon-Juarez with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill causing serious bodily harm and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He was held in the Durham County Jail on $1 million bail.
