Phenom Commitment Alert: 2024 Isaiah Washington has committed to UNCG

Any time Phenom Hoops can report on the signing of a player we have seen over the years, it is a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal of playing at the next level and it is a great accomplishment for the individual player.

“High-level scorers will always be coveted, and Washington is undoubtedly one of the state’s best offensive weapons. Sure, he’s made strides as a defender and playmaker, but he’s clearly at his best when he’s trying to make an impact. Washington creates well off the dribble, both for himself and others, and knows when to pick his spots or let others take them. That being said, he’s capable of filling them with ease at all levels. Washington has great length, athleticism and toughness. He would be a great asset to many programs.”

“Washington has really blossomed over the years and shown his impact on the court. He really embraced being a true scoring option and leading his team last year and has continued his consistency this year. When you talk about his game, he can get to his positions off the jump, is a strong finisher with some bounce in his game, is strong in transition and is one that can sink shots from a variety of levels as well.”

“He’s a big, talented, athletic wing player with the ability to apply seemingly consistent pressure at all levels. On offense, Washington is a reliable shooter, both on the catch and off the dribble, and a strong finisher around the basket. He can play through contact, finish opponents at the basket, and set up others when needed. Washington shows great balance between taking what he wants and taking what the defense gives him. He does his job well on defense and gets a good rebound rate for his size/position.”
