Salem man arrested and charged with four bank robberies

As part of their investigation into a series of armed bank robberies in Salem and Albany, Salem detectives arrested a 50-year-old man Tuesday evening.

The Salem Police SWAT team obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 2200 block Lee ST SE and arrested the man.

Police identified him as the prime suspect in three bank robberies in Salem and one in Albany within ten days.

The first robbery occurred on May 21 at Valley Credit Union, 2096 Mission St. SE.

Another took place on May 23 at Chase Bank, 5135 Commercial St. SE.
