One man is hospitalized and another is jailed after a road rage incident in Lehi

LEHI One man is fighting for his life, another is in prison and facing grievous bodily harm after the two were involved in a traffic fight.

It happened on Sunday afternoon near 1300 West and Main Street in Lehi. According to police, one of the men cut off the other as they were driving. It didn’t stop there, because there was also a brake check.

The worst thing about the incident, however, is that the man, whose condition is now critical, was with his two young sons, who witnessed the whole thing.

Neighbor Jace was working on his bike when he heard screams coming from his street.

“I immediately ran towards the main road,” Jace said. “I saw a guy lying there with blood coming out of his mouth. He looked like he was unconscious.”

“They got out of their vehicles and after a brief altercation, fists broke out,” said Lt. Jeff Ray of the Lehi Police Department. “This is a tragic case where two families are now facing tragedy. The unidentified man was flown to the hospital in critical condition.”

Jace said the most disturbing thing was that the man’s sons witnessed the entire ordeal.

“I think the moment I saw the children’s faces changed my life,” Jace said. “And put everything into perspective.”

Jace could hardly sleep after seeing the scene.

“I think both men were wrong and to blame for the incident, and they both fought, but the children witnessed it and saw their father lying on the ground,” Jace said.

The man booked into the Utah County Jail was identified as 43-year-old John Williams of Highland.
