Rape charge: Six-member gang arrested for rape | Chennai News

Chennai: A gang of six, including an actor’s driver, barged into the house of a 30-year-old supporting actress from Hyderabad early on Thursday and raped her. Police arrested six persons for rape. The arrested suspects lived in a house adjacent to the survivor’s house. One of the arrested, 26-year-old A Muppudathi from Tuticorin, was involved in two murder cases. The other arrested were identified as V Murugan, 27, M Kalyan Kumar, 28, of Sengottai, S Arun Pandi, 23, of Tirunelveli, S Periya Nambi Rajs, 24, and S Mari, 22. The survivor is a native of Hyderabad and was staying at her relatives’ house in Valasaravakkam. She had acted in a few Kollywood films and a few TV serials. The gang barged into her house when she was alone and raped her. After they left, the survivor informed the city police control room. A police team visited her house and rescued her. She was admitted to a government hospital for treatment. Based on her complaint, the police team arrested the six suspects and a court ordered their remand.
