On April 30, a driver was pepper-sprayed twice in a traffic accident in Erie.

According to Erie Public Information Officer Amber Luttrell, Erie police were dispatched at 11 a.m. to a traffic violence incident near Erie Parkway and East County Line Road.

Two drivers were observed by a third driver outside their vehicles and appeared to be pushing each other. The third honked in his vehicle.

In response, one of the pedestrians hit the passenger window and approached the driver’s door, Luttrell said. The third driver used pepper spray on the person and drove away.

According to Luttrell, the pepper-sprayed person then got into their vehicle, recklessly followed the victim and was pepper-sprayed again at a second location near Erie Parkway and Ambrose Street.

On May 1, officers issued a motorist a citation for threatening, disorderly conduct, reckless driving and harassment.
