Police identify suspect in shooting at American Legion Post in Ardmore – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting at an American Legion post in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, that left a man in critical condition.

On May 27, just after 6 p.m., police responded to a report of gunfire at the Spencer Reid American Legion Post in Ardmore following a Memorial Day street festival. Investigators said a 26-year-old man was targeted and shot multiple times following a disturbance at the post. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

As the shooter and an accomplice fled the scene in their vehicle, another man left the post and fired several shots at the fleeing vehicle, investigators said. Officers are unsure if anyone in the vehicle was hit and are working to identify the second shooter.

Apart from him, no one else was hit by gunfire inside or outside the post.

Investigators later identified Andrew McCutchen, 35, of Philadelphia, as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is charged with attempted murder and other related offenses and is considered armed and dangerous.

McCutchen is described as a 6-foot-tall, athletic man weighing about 220 pounds. He has a full black beard, medium-length hair in short braids or curls, distinctive teardrop-shaped tattoos under his right eye, and a dark mark the size of a 10-cent coin under his left eye.

He was last seen wearing glasses, a black soft-brimmed hat, a white t-shirt, black athletic shorts, white socks and white sneakers.

Police are also looking for a vehicle allegedly involved in the shooting, which they describe as a dark gray 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS with Pennsylvania license plate “MMN-9443.” The vehicle also has a bumper sticker to the right of the license plate that reads “Rest Awhile Ride for Miles,” a trailer hitch, mud flaps with a Chevrolet logo and a roof rack. The vehicle may also have bullet holes or broken windows on the passenger side, investigators said.

If you have any information on McCutchen’s whereabouts or the location of the vehicle, please call Lower Merion Police at 610-649-1000 or 610-645-6228.
