Motorcyclist killed in accident on Hanbury Road in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia – A motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Chesapeake on Saturday evening.

Shortly after 5:15 p.m., police said officers were called to Hanbury Road E and Benson Lane, right in front of the Hanbury Village shopping center.

According to police, a pickup truck turned into Benson Lane in front of the motorcycle and the motorcyclist crashed into the side of the truck.

Authorities did not immediately release the name of the motorcyclist, who died in hospital after the accident.

Police told News 3 that the truck driver remained at the scene of the accident.

The police are investigating. The road is open again.
