In Madison County, Texas, a man was sentenced to life in prison

Shawn Allen was sentenced on May 1 after being found guilty of human trafficking and sexual abuse of a child.

MADISON COUNTY, Texas – On May 1, a man received a life sentence after being found guilty of human trafficking and sexual abuse of a child by a Madison County judge in 2020.

In August 2020, a female victim came forward about what Shawn Allen, the convicted man, did to her. According to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, Allen would “take her to trailer houses and force her to have sex in exchange for money and drugs.”

According to testimony, the victim was 14 at the time of the abuse and would leave with Allen, later returning with drugs and money and even being taken to Allen’s room alone.

Allen’s crimes didn’t end there, as the victim also revealed that she had been sexually abused by him, given methamphetamine, and that she even had Allen’s name and codes tattooed on her ankle.

An investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Unit found that Allen and the victim lived together in Midway for several months between January 2020 and March 2020.

Allen was convicted after a bench trial by Judge David Moorman.

“As District Attorney, I am proud that we were able to send a dangerous sex offender to prison for the rest of his life. He will never return to Madison County!” said District Attorney Courtney Cain. “I am also proud that we have brought justice to the victim so that she can continue the healing process after such horrific abuse.”
