A Round Rock doctor’s license revoked for “inappropriate conduct.”

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Round Rock doctor’s medical license has been temporarily suspended after a Texas Medical Board panel found evidence that “his continued practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to the public welfare,” the panel said on Monday.

After disciplinary proceedings on Thursday, the board removed Dr. Willard James Davis II’s medical license. The board said the temporary suspension was effective immediately.

The panel said a panel found evidence that Davis was impaired while working at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.

St. David’s HealthCare issued a statement to KXAN saying Davis no longer works at their facilities.

The last time that Dr. Will Davis, who worked at a St. David’s HealthCare facility, was at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital on January 24, 2024. He no longer provides medical services at any of our facilities.

KXAN contacted an attorney representing Davis in an unrelated case in Williamson County for comment. This article will be updated as soon as comments are received.

The panel also found that Davis behaved “inappropriately” toward a patient while working in the emergency room at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. The board said Davis also left the emergency room unattended for extended periods of time.

A hearing on the temporary suspension will be held within 10 business days of notification to Davis, the board said.

According to his medical license, Davis has 22 years of active practice, including 18 years in Texas.
