The Seneca Chief prepares to set sail on the Erie Canal

The Erie Canal turns 200 next year and Spectrum News 1 has been following the construction of the Seneca Chief, the first boat to travel down the canal.

It is an early kickoff to celebrate the bicentennial of the Erie Canal and will serve as a floating museum.

And while the hangar building loses its main occupant, an interactive canal exhibit will replace the boat next year.

Breanna Fuss is at Canalside to show off the completed replica before she leaves her home and embarks on a new adventure.
