Two women killed, another seriously injured in hit-and-run on Kedzie Avenue in East Garfield Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — According to Chicago police, two women died and another is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV on the city’s West Side.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Kedzie Avenue in East Garfield Park.

A white Dodge SUV ran a stop sign and collided with a green Buick sedan at the intersection.

According to Chicago police, two women, ages 34 and 47, died at the scene.

A 32-year-old woman was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Police later said the Dodge was abandoned at the scene and the driver fled on foot north on Kedzie. No one was arrested.

The local criminal police are investigating the accident.
