Driver dazed but uninjured after crashing into power pole on Thursday evening

A 65-year-old woman was dazed but uninjured after a car crash on Route 309/Bethlehem Pike in Montgomery Township late Thursday night.

The accident was reported at 11:56 p.m. on Route 309/Bethlehem Pike in front of the Police and Fire Credit Union, 798 Bethlehem Pike, police said.

A white Toyota struck a utility pole in the southbound lane of Bethlehem Pike, according to reports from the scene. Airbags were deployed and VMSC EMS arrived and evaluated the patient, who refused treatment and transport, police said.

The Montgomery Township Fire Department arrived on scene to clean up fluids that had spilled onto the roadway as a result of the accident.

An inactive power line lay across the side of the road.

Both southbound lanes of Bethlehem Pike/Route 309 were closed at North Wales Road for about an hour.

Police said the crime scene was cleared at 1:09 a.m.

The accident is still being investigated, police said. It is not yet known whether charges will be filed.

FDMT and Montgomery Township Police were assisted on scene by the Montgomery Township Fire Department and VMSC EMS.
