Binghamton man killed in car-pedestrian crash in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania

A Broome County man was killed in a car-pedestrian accident in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, early Friday morning.

Derry Township Police identified the victim as 54-year-old Randy Ticknor of Binghamton.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. Friday, Derry Township Police Officers were dispatched to the area of ​​Hersheypark Drive and Hotel Road to arrest a pedestrian who had been struck by a motor vehicle.

First responders and medical personnel who happened to be on site at the time of the accident tried unsuccessfully to save Ticknor’s life. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ticknor was struck by a Dodge Caravan. Police identified Isaac Young of Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, as the driver of the Dodge Caravan that allegedly struck Ticknor. No charges have been filed as of Friday morning.

A concert featuring Def Leppard, Journey and the Steve Miller Band took place at Hersheypark Stadium on Thursday night. Police did not disclose whether Ticknor was leaving the concert at the time of the accident.

The investigation is still in its early stages and investigators are trying to determine the circumstances of the crash.

The police are not releasing any further information about the incident at this time.
