Two ski tourers dead, one rescued after avalanche in Utah

Two backcountry skiers died and another was rescued after an avalanche in a mountainous area near Salt Lake City on Thursday.

Sheriff Rosie Rivera of the Salt Lake County Police Department told reporters that the deceased, one from the area and one from out of state, were men ages 23 and 32. Because family notification was not complete, He declined to provide further details, other than to say the three were presumably friends.
