Weather warning during the day: High temperatures on Saturday

Temperatures in Portland are expected to reach 35 degrees on Saturday, increasing the risk of heat stroke, exhaustion and dehydration.

PORTLAND, Oregon – High temperatures return to the Portland area Saturday, with the forecast calling for highs of 95 degrees.

KGW is issuing a weather advisory for Saturday as temperatures will be uncomfortably hot at around 35 degrees. Temperatures are expected to drop to the 30s on Sunday, with cooler air returning next week.

A weak weather system is expected to move north off the coast late Saturday night. It could be strong enough to produce some thunderstorms along or off the coast. Clouds from these storms will move across the western valleys Sunday morning but will dissipate by the afternoon, according to Matt Zaffino, chief meteorologist at KGW.

Next week, cooler air is expected again, with maximum temperatures around 27 degrees and continued sunshine.
