DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ) – A Brockway man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was in a relationship with.

Andrew Joseph Peters, 50, of Brockway, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and simple sexual assault in connection with an alleged incident in June.

The victim told DuBois police that Peters was in her house when she went to take a shower. She told police that Peters offered to make something to eat in the meantime, the charges state. When she left the bathroom and went to her bedroom, Peters was waiting for her.

According to her statement, she told police that Peters pushed her onto her bed and began sexually assaulting her, during which she repeatedly told him “no.” She claimed that Peters said, “You know you want it. So do I.”

The woman said she pushed him away with her knee and then called for someone else in the house. Peters then stopped and walked out of the bedroom, she told police.

Peters agreed to speak with DuBois police during the investigation. Police said they told him he was getting mixed signals from the victim and was unsure whether or not he was getting mixed signals on the day of the alleged assault. According to the charges, he claimed her pleas of “no” did not seem sincere to him and if he could “overcome” her refusal, she would be willing to voluntarily comply.
