1 dead in traffic accident in Dorchester County

ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Dorchester County.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. Monday on Highway 15 near the Interstate 26 exit, about five miles north of St. George, said Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover.

A 2008 Cadillac was exiting I-26 and entering Highway 15 when it collided with a southbound 2012 GMC pickup truck.

Glover said the driver of the Cadillac died from injuries sustained in the crash and the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
