Accident on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway: Six dead and eight injured

At least six people were killed and eight injured when a bus collided with a truck on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway in Anand at 4.30 am, police commissioner Gaurav Jasani said.

Anand Fire Brigade also reached the spot and took action, ANI reported.

According to the Anand Rural Police Station, the accident occurred near Chikhodra village in the district. The bus, which was heading towards Ahmedabad, had stopped on the roadside to repair a burst tyre.

While the tire was being repaired, the passengers got out and were waiting in front of the bus when the truck rammed from behind, TOI reported.

The report also mentioned that five people died on the spot, including the bus driver. Another person succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The injured are being given medical treatment, an official told TOI.
