Buffalo Bills’ Stevie Johnson Gives Back to Community

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A celebrity charity basketball tournament was held Saturday at Delaware Park.

The event was hosted by former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson and local musician Top Grease.

Johnson said he is always looking for ways to give back to the community where he spent most of his career.

“They appreciate that I’m myself in good times and bad, and I really respect that,” he said. “I didn’t want to just go back to California and forget all the love that’s been given to me here. I still want to stay connected to the fans. You know, we have more than just a connection to sports. I grew up here, basically. I learned a lot of life skills here, and I’m just happy to be able to create and provide for the community.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit the YMCA of Western New York.
