Albany man arrested in suspicious death investigation

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) — The Albany County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of an Albany man in connection with the investigation of a suspicious death. Steven Herbst, 42, was charged Thursday with concealing a human corpse.

Officers said they received information about a body at Herbst’s home on Sheridan Avenue in Albany, and a search warrant was issued. According to the sheriff’s office, human remains were found, but after an autopsy there was no evidence of a crime being committed in the death.

Herbst was arraigned in the City of Albany Criminal Court and was subsequently remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
