Lee County Elementary School Teacher Charged with Assault After Classroom Incident – CNAW 2 with Colin Scroggins

A Lee County elementary school teacher is serving time in prison after being charged in connection with a classroom incident in mid-April.

Investigators said Lee County deputies received a report from the principal of Loachapoka Elementary School on April 18, 2024.

“The principal stated that on April 17, 2024, at approximately 2:43 p.m., a first grade teacher named Brittney Denise Buford, 32, of Auburn, struck a seven-year-old student in the face with her forearm.

Investigators obtained evidence, including videos from the classroom.

Buford was arrested on May 9, 2024 by Lee County Sheriff’s investigators for 3rd Degree Assault. She has since been released on $1,000 bail.
