Two dead in shooting on Hickory Ridge Drive in Richland County

COLUMBIA, SC — Two people are dead and one injured after a shooting that Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators believe is related to a drive-by shooting in a neighborhood off Leesburg Road.

The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, in the 300 block of Hickory Ridge Drive, off Padgett Road. Two people died at the scene, while a third person was found inside a home and transported to a local hospital with numerous, non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have few details about the incident, which is being classified as a double homicide, but were able to find several bullet casings at the scene. The victims have yet to be identified.
