Man and woman killed in suspected murder-suicide in New York: sources

A man and a woman died in a double shooting in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide, police and law enforcement officials said.

A 24-year-old man and a woman, whose ages were not available, were each shot in the head at 174th Street and Davidson Avenue in Morris Heights around 1:40 p.m., authorities and sources said.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene and a weapon was recovered, police said.

It was not immediately clear whether the violence occurred inside a building or outside on the street. The exact relationship between man and woman was initially not known.

The man has a previous conviction for juvenile robbery and has previously been arrested for violating the Road Traffic Act, the sources said.
