Police say $12,000 stolen in East Boston bank card scam – NBC Boston

Boston police are searching for a woman who allegedly withdrew $12,000 from a person’s bank account last month after convincing the person there was a problem with an ATM.

The person used the ATM on Porter Street in East Boston on Saturday morning, June 22, and then told the next person that there was an error, police said Tuesday.

She then stole the person’s bank card and withdrew $12,000, police said. Police released pictures of the woman and asked anyone who knew her to call them at 617-343-4234.
