Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is under investigation for an alleged incident that occurred at a nightclub this week, and some new details have emerged about the situation.

Police are investigating Rice after he was accused of punching a photographer at a club in Dallas, Texas, on Monday night. According to police documents obtained by TMZ, the alleged incident occurred around 2 a.m. at an “after-hours party” at a hotspot called Lit Kitchen.

The photographer told police he left the nightclub but returned after receiving a message from Rice in which Rice indicated he wanted to hire the alleged victim. When the photographer returned to the club, he said Rice gave him a phone to look at and then Rice punched the man in the left side of his face.

The police report states that the photographer had “swelling of his jaw” and complained of pain. The man took himself to a local hospital.

Rice has not been arrested or charged, but Dallas police say the incident remains under investigation.

Rice has faced all sorts of legal problems. He was recently charged with eight felonies for his alleged role in a car accident in March. According to reports, Rice was speeding down the highway and lost control of his vehicle, resulting in an accident with multiple injuries (see video here). Rice and several others fled the scene.

Rice, 24, also faces multiple civil lawsuits in connection with the crash. The Chiefs are reportedly expecting a significant suspension for their wide receiver, and the punishment could be even harsher if anything emerges from the nightclub investigation.
