UPDATE: Huntsville police identify 18-year-old killed in car crash on Monte Sano | News

TO UPDATE:

Huntsville police have identified the 18-year-old who died in a car crash on Bankhead Parkway.

According to police, Aiden James Higdon died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon around 1:40 p.m.

The driver was also taken to Huntsville Hospital and remains in serious but stable condition. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

From the past:

Authorities believe one person is dead in a car crash on Bankhead Parkway in Monte Sano. According to Don Webster of HEMSI, the accident happened just before 2 p.m. Saturday.

Webster says the vehicle left the road, went down the embankment and then struck a tree. He says one person was also injured in the crash. They are being taken to Huntsville Hospital’s trauma center and are reportedly in stable condition.

HEMSI and Huntsville Fire and Emergency Services arrived at the scene.
