Jennifer Lopez responds to Kate Upton’s sexual harassment allegations against Guess co-founder Paul Marciano

Jennifer Lopez has released a statement responding to Kate Upton’s allegations that Guess co-founder Paul Marciano “sexually and emotionally” harasses women.

On Wednesday, Upton – who was the face of Guess in 2010 and 2011 and appeared in several campaigns – tweeted: “Disappointing that such an iconic womenswear brand as @GUESS still supports Paul Marciano as creative director. #metoo.”

“He should not be allowed to abuse his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo,” she later added in the Instagram caption of a screenshot of her tweet.

Lopez, 48, is the star of the iconic brand’s spring 2018 campaign. In a statement on Thursday, Lopez stressed that she does not tolerate “sexual harassment, harm or misconduct.”

“My position on these issues is well known as I have made it very clear,” the statement said. “I do not tolerate sexual harassment, violation or misconduct. All allegations must be fully and thoroughly investigated. I will continue to support our rights as women.”

Upton did not provide any further details about her complaint on social media. TMZ reports that Marciano, 65, says he is “shocked” by Upton’s sexual harassment allegations and will not apologize because “he did nothing wrong.” He also insists he never touched Upton or was ever alone with her.

“If she has a claim, there is one place she can tell the truth and that is in court or to the police,” he tells TMZ.

On Wednesday night, Lopez and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez attended the launch of her Guess Spring 2018 campaign in Los Angeles. Lopez pulled out all the stops for the event, wearing a skintight baby blue dress and matching fur coat. The superstar wore curly hair for her glamorous evening.

Lopez was seen hugging Marciano at the event.
