Investigation into NYC death: Body found in sleeping bag on Kips Bay Street

KIPS BAY, Manhattan (WABC) — A person was found dead in a sleeping bag in Manhattan.

The discovery was made shortly before 5 p.m. Friday at 207 E. 27th Street when officers responded to a report of a suspicious package.

Then the officers saw the sleeping bag and discovered the body inside.

According to eyewitnesses, the body was left on the street along with the garbage.

The gender of the body is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
