2 dead, 3 injured in Huntington Beach attack; 1 in custody – Orange County Register

A knife attack in Huntington Beach left two people dead, three others injured with non-life-threatening injuries and one person in custody, authorities said.

The attack was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, near 16th Street and Pecan Avenue, according to Huntington Beach police.

It is a neighborhood with apartment buildings.

“Upon arrival, officers found several victims with significant injuries,” police said.

“The investigation is ongoing and we will provide further information as soon as we are able,” police said.

Authorities told Fox11 that the victims had been stabbed. It is unclear whether the person in custody is among the injured.
