Toddler dies after running in front of a truck

MORGANTON, NC (WBTV) – A toddler was hit and killed at a Burke County campground Thursday morning.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was called to the Steel Creek Park & ​​Family Campground parking lot around 10:40 a.m.

According to police, a truck attempted to drive around one of the buildings and struck an 18-month-old girl who was running in front of the truck. She died of her injuries at the scene.

Police said no charges would be filed in this case.
