Man charged after accident on Erwin Highway – WGRV.com

A Greeneville man has been charged after leaving the scene of an accident on Erwin Highway Wednesday afternoon.

Dennis Askland of South Mill Road was involved in the accident at the Marathon station on Erwin Highway and gave his information to the victim. He then reportedly got back into his Ford F-150 and fled the scene.

As he fled, Askland drove over the curb in the parking lot and nearly collided head-on with another vehicle as he turned onto Erwin Highway.

Askland was later charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in property damage. According to the Greene County Sheriff’s report, Askland stated he left because his license plate was expired.
