Oklahoma City police officer found dead at Lake Stanley – Draper identified

The search for missing OCPD Officer Greyson Fox has been called off after he was found dead Tuesday morning, according to Oklahoma City police.

Fox was identified by police on Tuesday afternoon.

The OCPD said the department received a call at the lake around 6 p.m. Monday reporting a man overboard.

When Oklahoma City Fire Department arrived on the scene, they were informed that four people were on a boat when two of them fell into the water.

The passengers managed to rescue one of the passengers who had fallen overboard, but they lost contact with the other, an adult man, who never reappeared.

Dive teams searched the lake using sonar technology. They usually pause the search overnight, but they felt it was safe to continue.

“We normally pause recovery operations for the safety of our divers,” said OKCFD Shift Commander Jim Williams. “But with the weather currently being nice and calm, we may continue throughout the night.”

Search teams found Fox around 3 a.m.

OCPD shared the news of Fox’s death on social media on Tuesday, noting that he was off-duty at the time. OCPD said Fox will open the academy in August 2023.
