West Haven man who rammed a patrol car faces numerous charges

West Haven police said they arrested a man on Saturday who deliberately drove his vehicle into a patrol car.

They say Iman Ahmed, of West Haven, attempted to run the patrol vehicle off the road near Route 1 in West Haven.

According to police, Ahmed chased the officer and then rammed his vehicle into another patrol car that was stopped at a red light on Saw Mill Road near the West Haven Police Department.

Ahmed was charged with several offenses, including illegal possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and assault on a public safety officer. His bail was set at $500,000.
