VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his own daughter in Visalia has died and has been identified by police.

According to police, 90-year-old Don Weerasinghe was the man who was stabbed to death by his daughter on Tuesday.

According to Visalia police, officers were called to the 900 block of North Atwood Street in Visalia on Tuesday evening after a report of an assault. Weerasinghe was found unconscious and bleeding heavily from his head.

Investigators say his daughter, 64-year-old Victoria Roberts, attacked him with a vase and other objects and then stabbed him.

Weerasinghe was taken to Kaweah Health, where he remained in critical condition before he eventually succumbed to his injuries on Friday, police said.

Roberts was arrested at the scene and booked into the Tulare County Adult Detention Center. Police say she was arrested on suspicion of murder.
